The role of the Pastoral Lead is to provide support to children, parents and carers on concerns that may be impacting the children’s learning, development and wellbeing.
The pastoral lead may work 1:1 or in small groups with children on issues such as bereavement, self-esteem, confidence, anxiety, separation, and social skills. The sessions are fun and tailored to the children’s individual needs, for example arts and crafts, social stories, forest school, games, role play and allowing time to talk.
Where appropriate the pastoral lead may ‘signpost’ families to outside services to provide additional support. We ensure we work closely with parents, teachers and outside agencies to provide continuity and progress for each pupil and their families.
The pastoral lead is available to respond to situations as they arise in school and children, parents and staff can ask to speak to the Pastoral Lead at any time.
